Workshops For People Who Work With New Mothers

Teaching parental Postpartum Issues

Please consult with the CEAMNY calendar for the annual workshop.

I assume you already understand the substance of newborn care and breastfeeding.  In Teaching Parental Postpartum Issues, we will focus, instead, on parental psychology, the development of identity, the role of doubt and experimentation in new parent behavior, and why well-intentioned, educated people too-often give “good” advice that makes new parents do the opposite.  We also cover how to differentiate normal mood from postpartum mental illness.

These workshops are mandatory for candidates in the Teacher Certification Program of CEA/MNY.

Mentoring and Co-Teaching for CEA/MNY TCPs

I welcome auditors and co-teachers nearing completion of their CEA/MNY certification!

You may audit my childbirth series at any time as a TCP; I encourage all TCPs to audit multiple teachers’ series as they work through the program. As I am not always teaching series, please contact me first.

If you want to co-teach with me as you near completion, I require that you audit a full series of mine prior to co-teaching.  You must confirm whether the group class I am teaching is eligible for your co-teaching requirement. I will work with you closely to help you prepare for your teaching.  Please contact me to discuss it further.

I am available as a mentor for new TCPs in the CEA/MNY program.  Please contact me.
